Alan’s long running passion and love for tango has led him to be involved in teaching, and performing tango at shows, milongas and other events. Alan explores the sensitivity and complexity of tango music, incorporating his rich experience into the selection of music that expresses his personality and energy onto the dance floor.
He takes care of the needs of the dancers, and is unique each and every time. Alan has been musicalizador at TangoAmadeus Festival in Vienna, Danube Tango Meeting in Budapest, International Tango Festival Ljubljana, Festival Internazionale Tango d’Abbraccio Italy, just to name a few.

His music is centered on the great orchestras of the Golden Age, with a careful use of earlier and later music when appropriate. Actively pushing mood and energy as well as remaining open to changes on the floor, he aims to create a deeply emotional experience over the course of the milonga.

Tango became his means of communication in 2008. To understand the music better, he soon started to dj at milongas in Slovenia, as well as some international encuentros like “Dias de Juventud” and “Abrazos de Corazon” and festivalito “Tango Fantasia con Nieve”.
He lives in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Andrew discovered his passion for Argentine tango in January 2008. Although he fell in love with the music straight away, it is only recently that he has used his knowledge of the music as a tango DJ.
Andrew plays Golden Age music from the 1920’s to the 1950’s and chooses music as the milonga progresses to reflect the type of event and the energy in the room.
He has DJ’d throughout the UK and has debuted abroad in Norway.
In support of the tango community during the pandemic, Andy provided virtual milongas on Zoom each Saturday in place of the evening milongas in Europe and USA: Virtual 6 Milonga, Tandas Around the World and Milonga as a Service (MaaS) https://sites.google.com/view/milongaas
Andy DJ’d at US Encuentros and Tango Marathons and is the organizer of the Newport News Encuentro (E+).
Tango teacher and tango DJ based in Copenhagen.
In April 2008, Bärbel began DJ’ing, introducing her personal approach, combining a rich variety of traditional Tango music, throughout Europe. Always striving for an inspiring atmosphere, and to maintain effortless flow on the dance floor, Bärbel’s style is at once romantic, rhythmical and playful.
“I like to describe DJ’ing as a way of story telling. One song is already a little story. Combining 4 songs gives a little chapter. The combination of the tandas during the night creates the whole story.” DJ Bärbel Rücker | Tanzbar

Noches de Verano:
DJ Damian Boggio’s Website
Damian has worked as both a musician and a composer and since 1999 he has been working as a DJ and organising milongas. He has DJed at many milongas in Buenos Aires, also at “C.I.T.A.”, further at the “Hamburg Tango Festival”, and at festivals and milongas in Asia. He plays his own vinyl LPs, which originally belonged to his parents and grandparents.
To choose between some violins of D’Arienzo and voices like the Fiorentino’s one can ensure the value of the flow. Rhythmical orchestras, old orchestras - we all love to dance and listen to it. The challenging part for a DJ is about mastering the timing of this choice. This is the challenge I love most.
DJ David Thomas (GB)
Noches de Primavera:
Noches de Verano:
DJ David Thomas’s Website
David is the resident DJ of the “Tango Journey Milonga” in the UK and is guest DJ elsewhere in the UK and across Europe.
David has recently published the book “Getting To Know: Twenty Tango Orchestras” which introduces the reader to the orchestra leaders, the signature sounds, and the most popular singers and musicians.
Deborah Segantini, Almabruja for tango friends, plays a selection of traditional music that ranges from the 30s to the late 50s, organized into tandas and cortinas. All the major orchestras are always present. At the moment she has a real soft spot for De Caro (playing it rarely), Laurenz and Tipica Victor. She adores Pugliese. On certain evenings a modern tanda can slip in, a mixed tanda usually containing some older music too, or a Chacarera or Swing cortina.
She says of herself: “I construct tandas as a dancer and I select them according to the interpretation of the signals coming from the dance floor, in the belief that the DJ should be of service to the dancers. I play music with a dual purpose: to free the largest number of chairs in the room and ... satisfy the ear of those who, by will, fatigue or a bit of bad luck, remain seated.
The rarest piece of the evening is never just for the ears and I try to propose it with respect to the balance created during the evening. Deep respect and sincere admiration for Piazzolla’s tango, but I reserve the right to listen to it at home with a good glass of red wine :-)”.
Elio Astor has been djing in clubs and private parties in the ’90s. He discovered tango in 1994, and started dancing in 2003. He is at the console as a tango dj from 2009. He is now Resident DJ in Milonga del Barrio, Milonga San Salvador, Milonga La Mirada. President and founder of the cultural association TangoEventi which main purpose is the cross-cultural diffusion of the “tango rioplatense” by means of music, history, poetry, theatre and, of course, dance.
Guest DJ in many italian and foreign milongas (in Buenos Aires too he was djing in Salon Canning and Club Fulgor), festivals and tango marathons, with more than 5000 hours of musicalization, his focus is always on the dance floor, with no prejudices on the music, just keep a good wave, and experience all the different emotions which tango can communicate.
His traditional tango selection can vary from the late 20s to the late 50s, with uniform tandas and traditional pattern “TTMTTV” and cortinas of jazz, rock or argentinan folklore. The best orquestas are his “tools” to create a tango wave which is always different according to the dance floor by putting just one tango after the other: D’Arienzo, Pugliese, Canaro, Di Sarli, Troilo, Calò, Biagi, Tanturi, De Angelis, Malerba, Rodriguez, Firpo, Varela, Laurenz, Fresedo, D’agostino, Donato, Carabelli, Demare, Sassone, Lomuto, Gobbi, OTV etc...

Since then he has constantly gained experience at Tango events in Austria and abroad. He chooses music from the 30th to the 50th. One of his favourite orchestras is D’Arienzio. Erich’s style is energetic on the one hand and romantic at the other hand.
His motto in the ballroom: “Occupy the dancefloor!”
DJ Eva-Lena started DJing in 2007, it was also about the same time she started dancing. Tango music has fascinated her from the very beginning, especially discovering new aspects dancing and listening over and over again.
She has played in several European countries and is a resident DJ at the local “Milonga la Barranca” in Linköping.
She plays the “golden age of music” meaning the sounds from the 1920’s to the 1950’s. Even though she prepares her music days before the milonga she is playing at, the final touch is done at the milonga, depending on the mood, rhythm and flow that is present at night.

Francisco is enthusiastic by nature, brimming with energy and he never misses an opportunity to make the best of every milonga: his music is very playful and dynamic, provides rich and varied entertainment. He is a great lover of the sensitive and rhythmic tango milonguero. He prefers the tango orchestras of the 30s and 40s.
Francisco is also one of the organizers of the encuentro milonguero and festivalito in Málaga, Spain.
Where Fred Romero plays there’s a party! Dancing and teaching tango, salsa, rock and roll & west coast swing, he knows better than anyone what it takes to dance.
His music is both classical and traditional, with a passion that gives energy to the milonga with a brilliant selection of unconventional, sometimes a little bit rebellious cortinas. In case you don’t know what that means, don’t worry, you’ll know afterwards.
The excellence of his musical selection means that more and more organizers of encuentros milongueros are requesting his services all over Europe.

DJ Hans Leutscher (S)
Noches de Invierno:
DJ Hans Leutscher in Facebook
Tango reminds me so often of classical music. Grand areas by Donazettti and Verdi confront the listener with moments of faith, the loss of a great love or mere death. But we find also joyful music in the classical repertoire, music that celebrates lust for life.
The tango music arrangers of old had a classical background, and lived in a world full of life folk music with songs that tell stories or were only made for dancing.
As DJ I would like the dancers to make a journey on the dancefloor. I see a milonga as a series of musical stories, each about 12 minutes long and connected (not separated!) by short cortinas.
The milonga should therefore have a well structured beginning and ending as well. And then it’s all over …..

DJ-Salzer, alias Hans Peter Salzer, is an international Tango-DJ, living in Ravensburg, near Lake Constance. In this region he is DJ-ing since 1999 - meanwhile he also works for international events, like Milongas, Festivals, Tango-Balls and Encuentros.
From the beginning of his Tango-Life he has been delighted by the richness of melodies and the musical variety in the traditional tangos. His favourite tangos are going like an infective fluid into heart, brain and feet.
TDJ Jack Rombauts is also organizer of Encuentro Boca Antwerp, Sélys Milonguero and Milonga Milonguero New Quarter in Antwerp.
As a dancer he evolved in 20 years to the Milonguero style. TDJ for over 10 years in many national and international events.
Energetic no-nonsense music from the Golden Age is his trademark. He takes good care of the dancers.
After spending 4 months in Buenos Aires in 2012/2013 I started to DJ at the Milongas in Vienna.
Ever since I have been passionate about my DJ work and hope to have inspired dancers both at regular Milongas (La Tardecita Frankfurt, Una Vez München, Die Milonga für Aficionados München, Tanztee Stuttgart, Milonga Weekend Vienna, Tangobar Vienna…) as well as at some international events (Tango Remolino DJ Festival, Zagreb Tango Festival, Bratislava Tango Party, Respirando Tango Week Sofia).
The challenge of keeping the dancers enjoying themselves inspired by my choice of music is what motivates me the most every time I DJ.
Konrad Krynski has become passionate tango dancer in 2008. Shortly after, he became a DJ. Since then he has spent a lot of time on listening and tango music research. Since 2010 Konrad has been organizing a popular Thursday milonga in Budapest. He has played at many tango events in several countries (Hungary, Holland, Denmark, Austria, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Italy, Serbia, Croatia, Latvia, Sweden, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania).
When he is a DJ, you will hear a wide representation of famous, classical tango orquestas ranging from mid-20ies till late 50ies. All that spiced up with some rare yet exciting and danceable pieces. His main goal is to keep the dancers on the floor by giving right level of energy through his tandas.

Larisa and Kirill are a DJing couple who started playing in milongas in 2010 due to lucky chance, although they fell in love with tango music from the very first moment they discovered it in 2003. “We prefer records from the 30s, 40s and 50s and we play according to the general mood and energy on the dance floor, as well as what we ourselves would like to hear/dance at that specific moment”.
DJ Lilijana Maric (SLO)
Noches de Verano:
DJ Lilijana Maric in Facebook
13 years ago Lilijana started to know and to love Argentine Tango and traditional Tango music.
Inspired by her travels to Buenos Aires she became interested in DJ-ing 11 years ago. The colourful intercultural roots of her family (from Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary and Uruguay) are reflected in the way she is playing music. Her main objective during a Milonga is to create pleasant energies with her choice of music.
With her spontanous and lively choice of music Lilijana already touched the hearts of dancers at milongas and encuentros in Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Hungary and Germany.
Tango DJ since 1998 and resident at many locations: 2016-2018 La Veraniega & Club Arquitectura 2017 El Recreo, La Terracita, Club Beso, Club Griciel, El Obelisco, Club Fulgor, Club Villa Malcolm.
Massimo is djing at Milongas and Encuentros at different european spots (Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia). Playing only Hi-Fi music from his personal vinyl collection and CDs (78rpm and DJ Set “Bien Pulenta”), he is proudly not using any compressed music formats like mp3. In both DJ Sets the music is mixed to delight novice dancers as well as experienced ones.
DJ Mathias Denk (S)
Noches de Verano:
DJ Mathias Denk in Facebook
Mathias only dances “estilo Milonguero”, and the tango music he plays is a result of that fact. He only plays songs from “The Golden Age” and up to the 1950s.
Every year he goes to Buenos Aires to develop his dancing and his musicality, and he therefore knows the music he plays is “bien bailable”!
Mathias is one of the resident DJs at Milonga “Plaza Bohemia” in Stockholm, and he frequently plays at Tango Norte’s tango events.
I live and organize tango events in the beautiful “Riviera dei fiori” – Imperia, Italy. My selection is structured strictly in tandas and cortinas. I prefer the style of the 40s and 50s, offering always a wide variety of orchestras.
I consider the milonga a ’social place” where the couple is never alone and the whole track lives of music and rhythm. I djed in Wien :), Genoa, Bologna, Pisa, Ferrara, Asti, Cagnes…and also at the Tango Festivals in Nice , Val Cenis and Sanremo.

Max Marzano is a very traditional Tango DJ and collector of original 78rpm’s. His backbone are especially D’Arienzo Shellacs from ’36-’39.
His style reflects his great passion for traditional tango, trying to convey the spirit of “Milongas Porteñas” every time.
He is an active Musicalizador, playing music regularly at some of the main Milongas in Rome, as well as all around Italy and abroad in Europe and in the world during Tango events, Festivals and Marathons. In 2014-2015 he organized the “Milonga Academia” in Rome where he was resident-DJ.
I took my first steps on the “pista de baile” nine years ago and I was immediately hooked on tango. Two years later I wanted to deepen my knowledge of the Argentinean culture and it is through djing that I did it.
Thus for about six years I have been travelling to the milongas of the Southeast of France, where I started, but also regularly in Europe, where I participate in many of the Encuentros Milonguero and European Marathons in France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Austria and Slovenia.
Making music is as great a pleasure for me as dancing and this is why I am, above all, attentive to the dancers and my feelings about the dance floor during the evening. For me it is essential to run a good party. A bailar !!!!!!
DJ Nisse mostly plays the “golden age” tandas with plenty of playfulness and romance in it. He also loves a good beat and finding good compositions within every single tanda.
Paolo is Italian living in Verona. He had his first encounter with Tango in 2000 and fell immediatly in love.
In addition to dancing, Paolo became more and more passionate about the Tango music and started his own collection right away. His career as Tango DJ startet 2003 and is still ongoing today in italy and other countries.
His music is structured in a classic way and leads the dancers through tango epoches, different rythms and melodies, keeping every second of it highly danceable.
Peter Wenger is DJ-ing since 2000 at milongas in the south of Germany and the north of Switzerland. His great hero is DJ Daniel Borelli from Buenos Aires. Through the selection of the tandas in particularly out of the “epoca de oro”, he tries to create an atmosphere of harmony. To give a contrast he pinches in a little bit of canyenque.
Tango teacher, tango DJ based in Vienna, co-organizer of the Encuentro “Noches de Invierno” and “Noches de Verano”.
SaTho-Sabine became a passionate tango dancer in 2005 and since 2008 she has been running the “Satho-Milonga” with her partner Thomas in Vienna, every Friday, where she is responsible for the music. Sabine has also gained a lot of experience through learning the bandoneon and by listening to and observing highly experienced guest DJs who she invites to their milongas.
When she DJs, you will hear a wide variety of famous, classical tango orquestras, structured strictly into tandas and cortinas, spiced with the right level of energy to keep the dancers on the floor.

Salima’s tango is traditional, yet never ordinary. She’s resident TDJ at “Blumilonga” in Conegliano since 2014. She regularly plays at events, encuentros and milongas in Italy and abroad.

This is Vivi, a professional DJ, she doesn’t dance at the milongas but only DJs. So, we are happy to bring her and enjoy the Buenos Aires atmosphera!
Xenia Mikhailov is an Israeli DJ traveling abroad and playing music in Europe. She sees herself as a very diverse DJ, being able to play light and dynamic music, keeping high and flowing energy or creating more sophisticated and calm atmosphere depending on the dancers need.
Her first education (MA) was in the field of history of XX century culture that allowed her to continue her research when she arrived at tango, to bring you a lot of lesser known danceable tunes staying in the strict frame of completely traditional music.
An important part of her style is using the whole spectrum of tango music and introducing a new danceable music from the end of twenties to the middle of fifties. Please, pay attention: the keyword is “danceable”, not “new”.
